The Sports & Leisure Group is a joint venture between Civil Service Sports Council (CSSC) and Penta Capital, operating two successful brands into the UK leisure market: Roko Health Clubs, the premium affordable family health clubs and PlayFootball: the new generation small sided football centres.
SPACE & PLACE worked with the CSSC to receive planning for various locations, taking into account funding issues and the requirements of the local community in providing suitable facilities.
The clubs include two indoor pools (main pool and teaching pool) and outdoor swimming pools, aerobic/dance studios, large gyms, spa areas and football, netball, tennis and badminton facilities, indoor and outdoor changing facilities, spa, sauna and steam room.
Additional facilities include a crèche, bistro and such services as internet access complete the venue as a leisure destination catering for the whole community. Each project value is from £5m.
Outdoor facilities at Roko Gillingham, in Kent, include three tennis courts, a bowls green, and licensed social facilities.
