SPACE & PLACE were commissioned to design and develop this project to complement the coastal regeneration visions of both Sefton Council and the Government in a multi-million pound restoration programme.
The two specific areas to regenerate were retail and leisure. The fact that the site was divided in two by a Grade II listed pier added a level of complexities to the design brief. Measuring over 3,600 ft the pier is the second longest pier in the UK.
The Ocean Plaza remains a destination venue today for both local residents and tourists to the popular north west town.
