Sanoe Vitae, Dublin

November 2002

Having viewed a number of SPACE & PLACE designed Health clubs in Europe, Sano Vitae appointed S&P to develop a corporate image and design a roll out programme of health clubs for them. S&P completed the first of these health clubs in the IFSC, the financial heart of Dublin.

The imaginative use of natural materials and artificial lighting ensure that this basement club is a tranquil yet welcoming environment. On the wet side, the club comprises a 20m lap pool and a health spa featuring a jacuzzi, a sauna and a steam room. Dry facilities include gymnasium, aerobics, spinning, treatment, luxurious changing rooms as well as a members relaxation area.

The attractive design ensured that the club quickly reached its full quota of 1500 members.

S&P then worked to increase the size of the club by expanding into an adjacent building, owned by the same client, increasing the club’s membership capacity to 2500 members. S&P undertook several feasibility studies on behalf of Sano Vitae for clubs in the Dublin area. This identified several key sites, on which S&P commenced design work in mid 2002.

Sano Vitae’s strategy is to expand into the major centres within Ireland. Additional design work undertaken by S&P includes planning drawings for a new build 200m2 health club and conference centre on a key city centre hotel, restaurant and bar complex in Derry.
