SPACE & PLACE was appointed to design a University Sports Park on the West Cambridge Site.
Cambridge was a city that historically had suffered from poor public facilities due to the local Planning Policies and the domination of the City by The University.
Facilities include a Pavilion bar, external 8 lane athletics track, extensive outdoor athletics training areas and multi-use games areas (MUGAs). The Pavilion included a Lounge Bar/Function Room with kitchen, Meeting Room, Admin Offices, multiple Team Changing Rooms, Groundsman’s Workshop and Athletics Equipment store and an extensive viewing balcony at first floor.
The Pavilion serves all the colleges as a sporting hub in a traditional clubhouse style.
