Aqua Vale Swimming & Fitness Centre

The Aqua Vale Leisure Centre project took an existing 10 year-old leisure centre and significantly enhanced it to create an exciting, first class facility, with the following carefully designed interventions from SPACE & PLACE:

• An elegant new retractable roof now covers the existing outdoor pool to offer both indoor and outdoor swimming to suit the weather
• 2 new flume rides with Aquacatch were added to replace the existing ride
• Relocation of the café to the front of the building now enables users of the adjacent park to easily access the facility
• New ’dry side’ changing rooms and additional ’wet side’ changing facilities were created
• The existing reception area and fitness suite were extended to approximately double their previous size
• A new multi-functional room (which can be used for community hire) was created
• The car park was re-planned, within its existing footprint, to provide 40 additional spaces (bringing the total to 140)
