Dukes Meadows Sport Facility 

Transforming Dukes Meadows: Expanding Sports and Recreation for a Vibrant Community Hub.

The London Borough of Hounslow decided to expand the project to add football and rugby pitches, a rowing club, and recreational amenities. We were asked to create a plan to enhance public spaces and improve external lighting for better accessibility and safety. S&P developed innovative lighting schemes and infrastructure proposals that met the Borough’s sustainability requirements, ensuring energy-efficient solutions throughout. We also aligned our proposals with the expectations of key stakeholders like Sport England, the Football Foundation, and the Rowing Club.

Stakeholder involvement and community consultation were central to this project’s success. We conducted regular meetings and workshops with key stakeholders to understand and integrate their needs and expectations into the design process. Feedback from these sessions actively shaped the development plans, ensuring that the facilities meet the diverse needs of the local community, sports organisations, and visitors. 

Results

After a comprehensive review and stakeholder consultation, the Council considered various options to enhance sports facilities, improve site access, and expand open spaces at Dukes Meadows. We held public consultations to gather input from local residents and community groups, ensuring the project aligns with their vision for the area. These enhancements not only aimed to create a more welcoming environment for all visitors but also to promote health and well-being through improved recreational opportunities.
